It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts
Ty Detmer – Green Bay Packers, 1992 Draft
NFL draft busts are typically those that the teams picked up players with huge potential but ended up being duds recording low-performance scores across the board. So in that sense, Ty Detmer doesn’t meet the traditional criteria simply because the scouts had seen this coming from a mile.
Although Detmer was Heisman Trophy winner, he was drafted as the 6th pick by Green Bay Packers in 1992. As expectations go, players picked up in the 9th round have less of it pinned on them, to begin with. None of his past glory mattered as he spent fourteen NFL seasons with six different teams, mainly in a backup role.
