Non-Americans Explain Why They Love America, And Some of Their Answers Will Surprise You!

The Right Kind of Individualism

It’s like the late American icon Frank Sinatra has put it in one of his best-known songs: “I traveled each and every highway / But more, much more than this / I did it my way.”

Individualism is an unmistakable American trait, and while there are some downsides to it, you have to admire the right kind of American individualism. Americans look for no excuses and ask for nobody’s help. They make risky personal choices with a level of confidence you wouldn’t find in the most self-reliant of non-Americans. Sure, extreme individualism and self-confidence can have an adverse effect sometimes. Still, we’re confident America would never be the country it is right now if it wasn’t for their individualism.

Outside of the U.S., individualism is sometimes seen as a moral fault, more of a vice than a quality. But you cannot ignore the positive outcomes of the right kind of individualism, which is an unmistakable part of the backbone of America.
