Calling did the trick. She got instructions on how to feed Kay with a bottle. The bathroom problem was going to be a slow process, so it would need some getting used to. Her daughter wasn’t much help either since neither of them had owned a cat before Kay.
Her only consolation was that the kid loved the cat enough to want to spend every moment with it. Getting through the night was another problem she had to deal with. Cats are crepuscular, which means they are primarily active at dawn and dusk. This was a fact she only got to learn later.
