From Majestic to Disturbing, The Most Jaw-dropping Winter Photographs You’ll Ever See

A Scene Right Out of Narnia

Lighthouses have been used for millennia, and many are still in use today. A lighthouse is a tall building or structure with a light on top that is used to help guide ships and boats safely through water. As lighthouses are always near the ocean, temperatures can become frigid during winter causing them to freeze.

That’s what happened to St. Joseph Lighthouse in Michigan, pictured above. The lighthouse was constructed on a wooden pier, as wood is not a good conductor of cold. Still, it wasn’t spared from freezing.
