A Walkman on Wheels?
How cool would it be if you could ride your bike and listen to the radio at the same time? It doesn’t sound like such an achievement in today’s world, but back in the ’50s, it was virtually impossible. Luckily, the Huffy Radio Bicycles were manufactured from 1955 to 1958, giving the coolest kids in town a chance to pedal and listen to a doo-wop tune at the same time.
With an incorporated radio system, these bikes became a popular 1950’s Christmas gift. Nowadays, they’re a valuable collector’s item and an object of nostalgia for every man and woman who grew up in 1950’s America.
