The Previous Decades Were Cooler Than This One, and These Photos Prove it
The In-crowd at Studio 54
During most of the ’70s, Manhattan’s Studio 54 was the hippest, most exclusive club in the world. To get inside, you needed to be dressed to impress. But once you were in, you had the chance to share the dancefloor with some of the time’s most celebrated artists, actors, and socialities.
In this picture, captured in 1978, three beautiful women are seen sharing some gossip. They’re Debbie Harry (Blondie’s lead singer,) Jerry Hall (a model who also dated Mick Jagger,) and Paloma (an artist who’s also the daughter of the legendary Pablo Picasso). Sadly, Studio 54 would close doors only two years after this picture was taken, due to a case of tax evasion.
