At first, cars were an odd object destined only to the richest of the individuals. With the invention of the assembly line, they were democratized and started being seen as a sign of a wealthy country with a prosperous middle-class. But in the ’60s, the car developed to become what it is today: a status symbol that reflects the personality of its driver.
Cars went from being purely functional machines to a fashion and status statement. In this picture, three General Motors sports models appear in a fashionable promo: the Camaro Coupe SS, the Corvette Sting Ray Convertible, and the Chevelle Coupe SS.
