Back in 1971, the subversion of traditional gender roles was still not a common practice. But visionaries like David Bowie tend to think ahead of their time, as proven by this unique picture. Walking around with their baby son Duncan Jones (now a film director), singer David Bowie and model/journalist Angie Bowie were captured in cross-dressing mode.
It’s a picture for the ages showing us that progressive thinking was around in the early ’70s. A highly-accomplished singer and composer, Bowie would divorce from Angie nine years later, in 1980.
