In Vietnam, a young American soldier decided to decorate his helmet with pictures of his girlfriend from back home. Meanwhile, in the U.S., countless youngsters took it to the streets to manifest against a war they believed to be both useless and unfair.
The American military intervention in Vietnam divided the country between those who were ready to fight for their flag no matter what and those who supported a philosophy of peace and love. It’s still a controversial topic today, almost 50 years after its end in 1975.
