The Previous Decades Were Cooler Than This One, and These Photos Prove it
Frank Zappa Shows Up For an Episode of The Monkees
The Monkees were believed to be the American response to the success of The Beatles and became one of the first music groups to make it onto television. They had their show, which counted at one point with the presence of an extraordinary guest by the name of Frank Zappa.
In this 1967 picture, Zappa and The Monkees’ singer/guitarist Mike Nesmith switch roles for a short comedy sketch. Today, Mike Nesmith still plays live with The Monkees and other musical acts. As for Zappa, he passed away in 1993, at the age of 52, leaving behind a highly-inspirational set of records and brilliant satirical songs.
