It’s hard not to think of the past as a more chill time when we look at a picture like this. Equipped with a small camera, the glorified guitarist Jimi Hendrix focuses on capturing the energy of Janis Joplin, one of the most impressive singers of all time. It was 1968, and it seemed as though the world was more exciting than it had ever been.
Sadly, the excesses of the ’60s would take its toll on both Hendrix and Joplin. They died at the age of 27, passing away due to causes related to substance abuse. Their careers were cut short, but their spirit and unmistakable talent are still the inspiration of millions today.
