The Previous Decades Were Cooler Than This One, and These Photos Prove it

Jim Morrison, 1968

Just like Hendrix and Joplin, Jim Morrison also joined the dreadful 27 Club. He passed away way too soon, dying from heart failure at the age of 27 while staying at a hotel in Paris. He was, at the time, one of the world’s most influential musicians, poets, and celebrity figures.

Originally from Melbourne, Florida, Morrison co-founded the blues-rock act The Doors in 1965, alongside keyboard virtuoso Ray Manzarek. The band became one of the most popular musical groups of the ’60s, but Morrison found it hard to cope with the band’s success, eventually developing a crippling alcohol dependency.
