“Challenging,” “difficult,” or, as this Twitter user has put it, “wild depressing.” There are many adjectives for characterizing the hunt for a first apartment in NYC, but they all seem to be negative. And to be honest, some landlords do make some ridiculously bold moves!
This rental, for example, “has been saved by 37 users” despite the fact rent costs $1.3K and there’s a fridge on top of one of the bunk beds. In most cities, that kind of money would get us a house with a backyard.
