One of the Most Controversial Traditions in Spain Garners Annual Attention

The San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain, has been hosting The Running of the Bulls since 1594, though the sport has origins back to 13th century Spain. At least six bulls, as well as various other steers, are released into the cordoned-off streets. 

This sport is extremely dangerous, and between 15 to 50 injuries are reported each year. Since 1910, the year record keeping was begun, 15 people have been killed as a result of the event.
