Gameplay Blunders: Top NBA Fails in History

Evaporating Lead

One of the most fascinating rivalries in the NBA is between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. The finals in 2008 were their first classic Final match-up in 21 years, and it didn’t disappoint.

The Celtics held home court for the first two games, but in game 4, the unexpected happened. The Lakers were leading 38-14 when fueled by a 21-3 quarter run, the Celtics took the lead in what was almost a sure win for the Lakers. They eventually won the series, clinching Game 6 by an NBA Finals record of 39 points.
