It’s Hard To Forget These Biggest NFL Draft Busts

Danny Wuerffel – New Orleans Saints, 1997 Draft

After setting the SEC record for most touchdowns in college and winning Florida Gators their first national championship title in 1996, Danny Wuerffel had the potential to make it in the big league. Alas, that did not come to pass.

In fact, in 1997, New Orleans Saints, who had passed him up for selection on the first day, decided to draft him in the fourth round as the third overall pick hoping that Wuerffel would continue his winning streak in the leagues. In contrast, his game fizzled out as seasons went by, with his peak performance being at the World Bowl in 2000 when he was named the MVP.
