Another Unfortunate Winter Casualty
A frigid winter gripped the Northern Hemisphere in 2017, and both humans and animals felt its effects. This is not the first frozen fox we’ve seen today; this one was found in Germany’s Danube River. Apparently, the tragic fate of the animal was sealed after it fell into the river and drowned. As the water froze, its body gradually became encased in ice.
It may seem unusual, but a sight like this is not uncommon in Scandinavia. The region had frozen foxes each winter for five consecutive years.
