A Postcard From the Space-Age Pop Era
The ’60s were characterized by the Space Race, which culminated in the 1969 Moon Landing. But over a decade before the American flag was planted on the moon, there was a space-age pop craze in America, which resulted in the release of countless space-themed records, books, and TV shows.
One such show was Lost in Space, a 1965 CBS production featuring a family of space colonists trying to make it in outer space. In the picture, actors Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, June Lockhart, and Guy Williams pose happily while dressed in their astronaut prop suits.
