The Previous Decades Were Cooler Than This One, and These Photos Prove it

Sophia Loren, the Diva From Rome

It takes a city like Rome for a girl like Sophia Loren to appear. She started acting in the ’50s, and soon enough, she had the entire world in the palm of her hand. In 1962, she became the first non-English performer to win an Academy Award. From then on, it was all success, glamour, and fame in Sophia’s life.

The young girl became a mature and beautiful woman, and she eventually became a legend of 20th-century cinema. Today, at the age of 85, she still acts occasionally and lives in the outskirts of Rome, in a palace-like mansion worthy of a queen.
