The Golden Age of Wrestling, Meet the Most Influential Pro Wrestlers of All-time
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin (Steven Anderson) – Active 1989 to 2003
Even though he still graces WWE with sporadic appearances, the bald legend Stone Cold Steve Austin retired from the ring in 2003, due to many differences with the promotion’s roster and board. Staged or not, his rebellious personality was what made him famous; he was often seen as the anti-establishment wrestler, who vocally opposed chairman Vince McMahon.
Austin won close to 20 championships during his wrestling days. He also worked as an actor, presenter, and videogame promoter during and after the end of his fighting career. In 2019, Austin received the Stanley Weston Award.
