Dangerous, Wacky and Eye-Widening Sports Connecting Communities Across the World
Racers Channel Their Inner Rodent and Catch the Cheese
This “cheesy” sport has been around for almost 200 years, and its popularity continues to increase. Competitors head to Gloucester, England, to compete in the Coopers Hill Cheese Roll where they chase a roll of cheese down a 656-foot hill at speeds up to 70 miles per hour.
Originally, the rules stated that the first to catch the cheese would be crowned the winner. Because the cheese can roll so fast, the winner is crowned when they reach the bottom and cross the finish line.
Up next, we have a sport invented by everyone’s favorite yellow bear.
